How I made thousand dollars on Fiverr within 2 months

Fiverr is a big deal these days. Everyone wants their work done in $5. It's a market place where you can get your job done in $5 and where you can do jobs ranging from $5 to any amount you want. The secret and also a misconception about Fiverr is that people will only be able to make $5 for their services which is far less when compared to today's world economy.

If you're thinking the same thing then let me tell you this you have come to right place cause you're absolutely wrong. Fiverr is a jackpot and if you use it in the right manner, you can make thousands of dollars in no time. I got to know about Fiverr 2 years back but never really tried it, thinking this very thing that $5 is nothing. But after going through some serious trials and tribulations, I thought of giving Fiverr a go 5 months back. With my 5 years experience in graphic design industry, I didn't have any problem starting a graphic design gig. I got my first project the very next day and I'll tell you why.

You see Fiverr is all about how you present your gig. Buyers will read your gig description and they will specifically look at your work samples. I had a number of designs in my portfolio which I could display so I went for my best 3 and for the description I looked at other successful gigs to get the idea of how to present and sell your work. It took hardly half an hour before my gig was ready. I didn't share it on any platform as I knew Fiverr has millions of visitors so my gig will eventually get noticed. And so it did.

The first order was very important and I offered unlimited revisions to my client after which she gave me a great feedback and review. That was the spring board I was looking for. After that I got tons of orders and I was able to make $400 in my first month. Many clients reordered my gig just to give me some extra $5 tips. Once I reached the 2nd level, I was able to add gig extras. That was the game changer for me as clients were in need of instant work, so they ordered my extras and I started earning 10-20$ per order.

My second month revenue was almost $600. My gig included a very simple graphic quote poster so it hardly took me 15 minutes to half hour to complete one gig. The job was simple and the income multiplied.

Things I learned from Fiverr is that there is no competition. It's always about the quality of your work. If you can create quality stuff for the clients, they will come back and even if you charge them some hefty amount they'll be willing to pay. Many of my clients payed me up tp $60 for a simple poster.

So make sure if you want to work on Fiverr, pay special attention to customers happiness and try to get good reviews right at the start. Try to maintain your rating up to 4.8 - 5 stars. There will come days when you won't be getting new orders for days but you don't have to worry cause clients will come eventually. Fiverr keeps on rotating the rank order of gigs and there are literally millions of gigs on that market place.

You can take a look at my gig on this link:

How much Money can you Make from an Android Application through AdMob

I always have this question on my mind as to how much money does android developers make after publishing their apps on the Play store. The market is without doubt a gold mine for gaming companies like Super Cell but what about indie developers?

After a through research of 6 months and launching my own app as well in the process, I have a very clear estimate about the money that is invested and the money that is gained.

Here are some average stats that you should expect after launching your first app. I'm basing these facts mainly on US audience cause they form the bulk on the Play store. Currently my app has over 40% US downloads in addition to other countries.

Based on my research, for every 1000 hits on your AdMob banner ads, you get 10 clicks by users. This means 1/100 will click on your banner Ad. I haven't used full screen interstitial ads as they take away the user experience. For every 1 click you get $0.10. This has been my average CPC for 5 months so you can expect pretty much the same.

In order to get 1000 daily hits, you need atleast 2000 active users. You always need double the amount of active users. For example, for 1000 hits you need 2000 active users (not total downloads) and for 1500 hits, you need 3000 active users and so on and so forth.

So, if you have 10,000 active users, you can have up to 5000 hits every day which mean $5 through AdMob every day. These stats are not for the game apps but you can certainly relate them if you have a banner ad in your game app.

Now imagine, if your app gets to 100,000 active users mark, you'll be having 50,000 hits daily and you can make $50 on average every day which would amount to $1500 per month as passive income. It's not difficult to reach that mark if you can come up with a quality application.

You might see people discouraging you to engage in app business and talking about how tough it has gotten but based on my observation, if you can create a good quality app, you can certainly achieve good number of downloads and some pretty hefty income.

If you have an app already published, take a moment to share your earning experience with me. :)

How to Make Passive Money Online with Android Application

Making Passive money online with your first Android application.

Android/OS and mobile platform is a goldmine for developers. Millions of applications are being published on Android Play store and there is only one reason behind it and that is to make the next 'flappy bird' or to make the next big viral thingy that will let you play in millions. You might not know this but people who have cloned 'Flappy bird' after it was launched are literally making thousands of dollars even now. On the other end there are some totally scrap applications on the play store which could be considered as failed pursuits by some fail spammers.

Keeping in view the enriched platform that Android provides, I decided to have a go at it and try my luck with launching an Android app. I have absolutely no coding experience and frankly I don't want to learn all these difficult languages stuff. So, I took the easy way, 'Outsource'. Outsourcing an app can be seriously expensive but if you have some designing skill you can get coding work done for much less than it's actually done. I contacted a few developers and one of them agreed to work with me. It costed me almost $200 to launch my first app on the store. I wanted a quality product on the store and also the one which could capture some good regular audience. So, I went with the quotes application idea in which users can swap through different pic quotes and can share them with their friends over all the social media networks.

Before coming up with this idea, I did my homework. I checked the competition and the apps which were there already on the market so I knew I had to add some new features in order to highlight my app a bit more in the app store. With my designing skills, I created a simple UI with full screen picture quotes and asked my developer to allow me to categorize all my quotations. This way users can select different categories based on what type of quotes they want to read and share.

Initially, after launching my first app I thought it would be an overnight success. Guess what? it wasn't. I tried promoting it with my friends and was able to get upto 100 downloads.  This was nothing but atleast it was a start. After that I passed in few updates for the app improving the user experience. That proved to be a turning point and I started seeing 10-20 downloads everyday. I only monitized my app with the Admob as I was seriously against full screen interstitial ads and I wanted to preserve the user experience. So, after 2 months now, my app has gotten a kick start and its has almost 3000 active users now.

Here are some current stats about my app and how it's doing on the Play store:

Downloads = >9000
Active users = 3000
Admob Daily hits = 1500-2000
Admob daily revenue average = $1.5 - $3
Country of most users = USA
CPC = $0.10

The CPC for admob for me is consistent at $0.10 despite having US hits. This is different when it comes to using adsense which I use on my websites and gives me $0.20 - $0.30 CPC. I'm very happy with the results of my app so far.

So, right now I'm making a steadily growing income from my Android app without doing anything at all. I'm not promoting my app and let the users promote it. My downloads are increasing steadily and I can concentrate on developing other projects now. Once I get a good amount of user base, I intend to update this app with more features.

If you would like to see my app, kindly post in a comment and I will message you the link. This is just for spam purposes. I hope this article has helped you in order to understand how to make passive money online with android application. For quesions, please post in a comment

How to make Money on Facebook using Facebook Page

How I learned about the Monetary Potential of Facebook Pages

Three years back I heard from a friend that his other friend is making almost $3000 monthly off his Facebook page about funny pictures. At that time my blog was hardly earning me 20 cents a day despite being constantly trying to lure in some good traffic. So, I was obviously intrigued by the fact that people are making some serious money on Facebook using their facebook pages. I went on to check out the page of that guy and it had more than 400,000 likes. 3 years back it was indeed a big deal to have a page that big. Before I go on about how he was making money, let's discuss facebook pages a bit.

The Facebook Page 'Reach' Algorithm

A few years back, the Facebook fan pages were a big source for some heavy traffic. They still are but very few such pages are now left who can actually send in a lot of traffic. I'm talking about genuine Facebook pages here not the fake ones who have nothing but spammed likes and following. Facebook uses "Reach" algorithm to determine which page gets to be the most successful one. Facebook pages are governed by the reach they have not the number of likes when it comes to delivering traffic and performance. You'll come across thousands of pages who have more than 100,000 likes but these pages are hardly reaching even 0.2% of their traffic.  There are so many factors determining the reach of the page but my observation tells me that those pages that have been there for 2 or 3 years and have been consistently active, tend to perform the best.

You might think that most of these pages get those huge number of likes by Facebook advertisement. Well, that might be the case for huge agency facebook pages but for majority of them, it's a total different story. I'll give you example of my own Facebook page that I started back in 2012 after getting inspired from that $3000 a month guy. My page was about art & photography as I do both. For almost a whole year I kept my page active with some real good content. Get many artists to like the page and after sheer amount of hardwork and also after some $100 investment in Facebook advertisement, I was able to gather 20,000 likes on my Facebook page. Not much but it was indeed a happy moment even to reach that many people.

How I got 100,000 Likes in 20 days on my Facebook Page

I wasn't able to give much time to the page afterwards cause it was frustrating and I never really felt of asking other facebook page owners for share exchange and all those methods for increasing like as those would never have gotten me the audience who would be genuinely interested in art & photography. A few months later I restarted posting on the page the similar content. This time things were different. I was actually getting a lot more reach now which at times felt weird. It encouraged me to increase my tempo. I utilized Buffer app for automatic posting and posted different eye catching photos almost 10-15 times a day. Things got drastically fast.

Within 10 days my page reach started touching millions. My Facebook page likes increased from 20,000 to 120,000 within 20 days. I quickly established a small blog in order to utilize this change and started getting some seriously heavy traffic on to my pics blog which made me $400 from adsense within those 20 days. At a certain day my Adsense account was actually hitting $50 per day which was very satisfying especially when you get to make on only 20 cents a day off it. Things were going great. My revenue was increasing exponentially but then after exact 30 days, the drop started. My page's reach started going down as it went up.  The blog traffic was equally effected. It was time to turn things off.

Nevertheless, that experience actually taught me the most important thing going on Facebook. Pages who have already crossed the million mark have a huge earning potential. Secondly, Facebook algorithm works in a total random manner. You never know when could your page be up and running. Let me assure you again that I posted the same content as I did before so nothing got viral. It was simply a play on Facebook's part that allowed my page to reach to its full potential.

Now enough with the story line. On to main part as to how I actually earned those $400 in 20 days with my Facebook page?

When it comes to earning from Facebook and looking at today's stats, you need a seriously active page that is reaching more than 300,000 to 400,000 people. This means your page has to have likes upto the million mark just to be on safe side. How to get there? Here are few tips:

15 Tips for Making it Big with Facebook Pages

  1. Post in content that works.
  2. Don't post in any links or text posts. They actually decrease the overall reach of the page.
  3. Pictures are always the best thing to get page started. They work a lot better than other type of posts.
  4. If you can create comics or create unique funny videos that you have made yourself, you can harness the ultimate potential of Facebook.
  5. Page like Humans of New York are based on such unique work. These page didn't get viral overnight. Their owners worked tirelessly to make things happen. So, never underestimate the importance of content and hardwork.
  6. Page like Earth Porn, Word Porn seems to be run by some group of friends. These pages are at the pinnacle of successful Facebook page that are making thousands of dollars.
  7. Finally, pages like 9Gag and Damnlol were the pioneers of funny pictures based websites and Facebook pages. They are now probably making more than millions so don't even think about competing with them. Yes, I did try to clone these and I failed badly so trust me at this ;)
  8. Share your content with your friends. Sharing is the key to getting more reach. Likes also do matter but shares are the best way to reach the market exponentially.
  9. If your content is worthy enough, it will automatically get shared.
  10. Remember, you won't get to a million mark in days unless you're spending thousands on Facebook advertisement. It might take years before you can actually hit the million mark owing to the competition on Facebook now.
  11. Keep posting at least 10-15 pictures a day. Use tools like Facebook schedule or Buffer app for this purpose.
  12. If you're really desperate for audience, start asking for link exchanges from pages that belong to your niche. (They never reply)
  13. You have to engage the audience somehow through your content.
  14. There is no shortcut.
  15. Finally if you have reached a spot where your reach is doing great and you're getting upto 1000 likes on one picture than you are ready to monetize your page.

Using Adsense to Earn from Facebook Page

I would recommend starting a wordpress blog to get things started. Buy a custom domain and a small hosting account. The total expenditure for all of this could be up to 40-50$. Once done sign up on adsense through that domain after a week or so. Adsense accepts clients who manage their own domain on their own hosting account so even if you're in an Asian country, you'll be able to sign up for Adsense easily.

I would recommend putting your adsense code above and below your post and use the large square ad blocks. That do the best for me. Once you are satisfied with the design and have almost 10-15 small picture posts or any useful content ready, you can post a link at your page. If the content is worthy enough, you'll start seeing instant hits on your blog and if you're getting around traffic 2000-3000 people on your blog, you'll start seeing results instantly.

There are a lot More Ways to Earn from Facebook and Facebook Pages

So guys these are just a few tips regarding facebook pages just to get things started for you. I'll be posting a lot more articles on how to make money with facebook page on this blog cause there's a lot more to discuss even yet. I will write more about the type of content facebook users prefer and more on how to get more likes on facebook page in the coming articles. So, stay tune.

How I Started Making Money Online 5 Years Ago

5 Crazy Years of Sheer Learning about How Money is Made online

After 5 crazy years of intense online research, marketing and development, I think I'm finally ready to write all about my experience. Yes, I made thousands of dollars online during these 5 years but nothing can beat the amount of things that I learned during my time as a blogger, entrepreneur, graphic designer and freelancer. Indeed for the past 5 years, I have tested each and every white hat method for making money online. You will come across millions of blogs which tell you ways to earn hard money online but, to be honest, most of them will simply be filled with spam or bot content. The online world has evolved so much that there are now millions of ways for making money online but when it comes to making money by honest means, it's tough and a serious neck breaking experience.

Earning Thousands of Dollars online quickly requires 'Full-Time' Work

Those who do earn thousands of dollars on daily basis are actually job-at-home people who work full time on the internet. You will come across very few professionals who are actually earning a respectable amount as a part timer. If you're landed on this blog then know that I'm one of those part timers who were lucky enough to make some decent amount online and it was enough to keep my pockets filled all the time. This blog is meant to create awareness regarding the methods which people use to make a living online. Back in 2008 I got to know that people can actually make money online through a ad of 'designcrowd' freelance agency. I didn't know much about designing but I knew a bit of Photoshop so I thought of trying it out myself and see if it works. After some serious hardwork of 6 months, I was able to make $1700 on Design Crowd and trust me it wasn't easy. I had to work constantly for many hours and this was at the expense of my medical studies. I was a med student back then, now a doctor ;)

In the end, it's all about Applying Experience

But, the amount of design experience I got from Design Crowd proved to be a launching pad for me for years to come during which I made thousands of more dollars. Today, I might not have enough time to make such amount but if I give in my full time, I can easily make thousands in a matter of months now. This is cause of the experience I have regarding how things work online. Most of the money I earned got invested in other methods to continue my online passive income stream like buying domains, hosting accounts, WordPress themes, codes, freelance work, facebook marketing and on so many other experiments.

When it comes to blogging though, I failed badly. Mostly, because of the persistence it required and I was very impatient. I knew all about WordPress, Adsense, blogger, Tumblr, SEO, marketing, you name it and I knew about the topic. But sadly though, I could never really invest the time I should have put in due to my studies.

Competition is Fierce now

Whenever you google 'how to make money online', you will come across tons of content written only on this very topic and the amount of content is growing exponentially, Yes, you could also be the one making money online but remember this simple rule: 'Making money online was easy when Darren started ProBlogger 8 or 10 years back, when photography stock agencies were just getting started, when adsense was being introduced by Google, when Facebook was just getting started and in short when competition was almost nil. Today, with millions of people making content online and life as a whole shifting on to technology and web, I can say with clear confidence that it's not easy to make money online and you need to be both hardworking and lucky enough to be making descent amount online.
